nPauz

Privacy policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

nPauz helps you and the people you eat with decide where to go. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. nPauz is run by [Your name or company]. Questions? Write to [contact@email].

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, the name you choose and your profile picture. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and picture with us.
  • What you add: the parties you start or join, your messages, votes and spins, your ratings and reviews, places you suggest or report, your daily check-in (inside or outside, how far you'll go, what you feel like eating), your dietary needs and budget.
  • Location: the place you search for, or your device's location if you allow it, so we can show places near you. Locations you save are kept with your account. When we look up places we round your position to about 100 metres.
  • AI tokens: how many you have and how you used them. When paying for tokens is available, the payment provider handles your card details; we only learn what you bought.
  • Usage records: when you use a feature that costs us money (such as AI or Google place details), we record which feature, when, and its estimated cost, linked to your account. Our servers also keep short technical logs.
  • On your device: your browser stores a few preferences, such as your language, chosen location and today's check-in.

How we use it

  • To run nPauz: show places near you, run your parties, and remember your preferences.
  • To share it with your party: members see your name, picture, messages, votes, whether you're joining today and a summary of your check-in.
  • To answer AI requests (see below).
  • To keep nPauz safe: we limit how often features can be used and look into reports of abuse. To handle a report, an admin can open a party's chat; every time they do, it is recorded.

We don't sell your data. Some businesses pay to show offers in nPauz, always marked Sponsored. They only learn how many times their offer was seen and its link tapped, never who saw it. Which offers you've seen is remembered on your device only.

AI features

When you ask @AI in a party, summarise an order or use Ask AI on Discover, we send what's needed to answer to Anthropic, which provides the AI (Claude): your question, and depending on the feature, recent messages and members' names in that party, the group's preferences, and nearby places. Anthropic processes it to answer under its commercial terms. AI answers can be wrong, so check them, especially orders.

Who we share it with

Only with services that help us run nPauz, and only what they need:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Google: Google sign-in, place details and photos, and address search.
  • Anthropic: AI features, as described above.
  • OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap: map images and place data. Your browser loads map images directly from their servers.
  • [Hosting provider]: hosts the website.
  • Payment providers (once available): for example Stripe, Apple or Google, to process purchases.

We may also share data when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When your account is deleted, your profile, check-ins, ratings and the parties you own (with their chats) are deleted too. Usage records and technical logs are kept for up to [period] for security and accounting.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information in the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and data: write to [contact@email]. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

Children

nPauz is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app when the change matters.
